Saying Thanks by Sharing Wallpaper Leftovers

Thanksgiving leftovers – we don’t want good things to go to waste.

And that’s how I think about my leftovers. I don’t want the leftovers of the best wallpaper I’ve worked with this year to end up wasted. So I make decorative boxes.

Even the smallest scraps can make beautiful gifts. I make all kinds of useful boxes for hats, business cards, wine bottles, matches, even tissue roll covers. Think about how you can recycle your leftover wallpaper. It can be a great gift, even great wrapping paper.

The ones you see here in the video — they will be holiday gifts for my customers. A special thanks for working with me this year.

Dear Patrick,
Lovely video.
Yes, I like to make envelopes out of the wallpaper scraps.
Always a good response to their contents !

Happy Thanksgiving,

Yair

Great idea, Yair. I’ll try making envelopes too. Hadn’t thought about that. You can make CD covers for gifts too. Thanks!

Thanks for reminding us of a wonderful tradition – Lilian Baker Carlisle documented some of the finest (historic) wallpapers from the hatboxes and bandboxes at the Shelburne Museum. This will continue the (frugal but beautiful) tradition!

Thanks, Mary. In 200 years, these bandboxes will have the same patina as the boxes you reference because they are made with block printed wallpapers.
