Photos above are from this week’s install in Fairfax County, VA. The interior designer selected this Kanko Cork from Osborne & Little for a powder room to add texture, warmth and visual interest. It may be hard to see in the photos but it is tiles of cork layered over metallic gold grounds. Over the past year, I have installed Cork wallpaper several times. It is becoming increasingly popular as a wall covering. It is a sustainable and eco-friendly material. The cork oak tree bark can be harvested without harming the tree. It also possesses natural sound-absorbing properties, helping to reduce noise transmission within a room. Additionally, cork is known for its thermal insulation properties, which can contribute to maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.
